A tremendous drop from 7th place last year to 16th in this last campaign. When they finished 7th they had a very lucky year and without building the squad they were destined to crash and burn and burn they did. When Chris Woods went out with an injury the whole team seemed to fall apart. They couldn’t buy a result. Woods is 34 now and cannot carry this team much longer. Unless he is going to carry them into the Championship League. Forest have made no notable purchases this summer, but they did score $130 million for Elliot Anderson from Manchester City. They are going to need that money to rebuild their team while they languish in the lower League. ‘Cause that’s were they are headed. The owner, Evangelos Marinakis, doesn’t seem to have both oars in the water. Some of these people seem to think that by changing the manager then everything will magically turn around without attacking the fundamental problems. Hiring Oliver Glasner, whose stint at Crystal Palace could hardly be described as stellar, is no remedy to what ails The Tricky Trees.
