Since the formation of the Premier League, 24 years ago, Hull have been promoted 4 times though they never seem to stay long. They finished 4th in the Championship last year but were promoted via a playoff win over Middlesbrough. Newly promoted teams have a hard time making the transition in the Premier League and Hull are big favorites to go straight back down. The oddsmakers only give them a i in 4 chance of escaping the drop. During the summer they have been making some low-key signings. No big names have surfaced and much like Ipswich it can be a bit of a hard sell getting quality players to commit to a team located in the geographical backwaters.
None of their games are going to be easy this year and they start the season at home to Manchester United. Don’t be getting used to watching the Tigers from Hull as I don’t think they will be long in the Premier League.
