The Cherries finished 9th last year; an improvement from the previous year’s finish at 12th. They have been active in the transfer market while not really making any big name moves. They did acquire goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea for approx $30 mil and they need a center half after selling Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid for a tidy profit and Milos Kerkez to Liverpool. Even though their stadium only holds 11,000+ fans they seem to make a profit by selling their best players each season to teams with deeper pockets and higher expectations.

They have about as difficult an opening match as can be imagined with an away fixture at Liverpool. They also have to face The Reds without perhaps their best player, defender Lewis Cook, who has a ligament problem that will keep him sidelined perhaps until September. Expect some entertaining football from the Cherries this year, as usual, but don’t be surprised if they finish just about in the same league position as last year.

BOURNEMOUTH MATCH PREDICTIONS

WEEK 21 BOURNEMOUTH MATCH PREDICTIONS
BournemouthJan 7Tottenham
Bournemouth held Arsenal to some degree last time and only lost by the one goal. For some reason Tottenham seem to be better away from their home ground. Without taking out any big loans to finance this move, I will take Spurs to win this. Tottenham +1/2
