Leeds bounced back into the Premier League on the second try (they just missed out last year in the playoffs to Southampton). They were outstanding in their second year in the Championship. Joel Piroe was the top scorer with 17 despite not taking any penalties. He was the designated taker of them but didn’t register any, that only makes his final tally even more impressive. Daniel James ended with 12 goals and was named player of the season. Another useful player Manor Solomon on loan from Tottenham had 12 assists to his name. He will be absent this year but Leeds are busy trying to shore up their squad. Sean Longstaff arrived from Newcastle and brings a wealth of experience. The Whites could probably use a little help in the goalkeeper position.
Leeds have spent real money in an attempt to stay up (not as much as Sunderland) but I think they have a real shot at holding on. Given the recent trend of newly promoted teams returning to the lower reaches this will be an uphill battle. In their favor Leeds are no strangers to the big time and I think they could stick around for a while.
