LAST WEEK’S SUMMARY
Week 12
A truly bizarre week for the Premier League. Liverpool getting beat by Notts Forest 3-1 at Anfield, Manchester United going down to Everton 1-0, also at home and Manchester City losing to Newcastle 2-1. Those results must have stunned just about everyone including fans of the respective winning teams. Unfortunately our Gold Star bet, Man City to beat Newcastle, went South, but I did manage to score a win with a three-team parlay, which turned out to be the only three I got right this week! These past few weeks have seen some strange results, and I will be the first to admit that I’m not at my usual level when it comes to getting my predictions right. It will be interesting to see if I can correct that before the end of the season.
I have noticed a lack of other so called experts not contributing as much in the last few weeks. I address this in greater detail in my audio feed intro, which is posted before my weekly predictions available on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. Check them out: Hot Shot Harry’s Premier League.

BRENTFORD |
BURNLEY |

| Odds -1 | O/U 2 1/2 | Odds +1 | |||||
| PREDICTIONS: Burnley go down to the Big Smoke and take on Brentford. The Clarets are flirting with disaster, but The Bees are nothing to write home about either. Brentford have been the recipients of some very fortunate results, which in my opinion they did not deserve; while Burnley look like the reverse side of that coin. I think the visitors may keep it close, so I’ll go with Burnley on this one. Burnley +1 | |||||||
| RESULTS: 3-1 | |||||||
| ANALYSIS: Burnley held their ground for much of this game but that all changed in the last 10 minutes. When going over the stats at the end of the game it was a wonder that Burnley stayed competitive for so long. 30% possession and only two shots on target is not a recipe for success in the Premier League. Added to that are their horrible passing stats (only 79% accuracy) and their lack of any real scoring talent. With those kind of numbers you can see them quickly returning to the Championship. Brentford are far from top notch themselves. They have had some fortunate results and Igor Thiago’s numbers look good, but to put it in perspective, of his 11 goals 5 have come from penalties. Obviously they still count but they make the overall picture misleading. Back to the game! It was all tied up until the 81st minute. Thiago slammed in his first goal from the penalty spot and then four minutes later Burnley equalized in the same fashion. The game had suddenly come alive and the Bees were in front again 60 seconds later, curtesy of Thiago again.. Two minutes into overtime saw Dango Ouattara scored Brentford’s third and put the game beyond reach of a Burnley comeback. | |||||||

MANCHESTER CITY |
LEEDS |

||||
| Odds -1 1/2 | O/U 3 | Odds +1 1/2 | |||||
| PREDICTIONS: Leeds cross the Pennines to visit Manchester City and while they may keep it close, Manchester cannot replicate the disaster that was last week’s game against Newcastle. Leeds could have used an easier opponent this week after their close game and loss to Aston Villa, but in the course of the season, you have to play everyone twice sooner or later. I’ll take the home team, but I wouldn’t borrow any money to place that bet. Manchester City -1 1/2 | |||||||
| RESULTS: 3-2 | |||||||
| ANALYSIS: The game started in the worse possible way for Leeds as Phil Foden scored in the 1st minute. City were completely dominant in the first half and went in at the break two goals up. The second half was a different affair. Leeds battled back and after two mistakes by defender Josko Gvardiol found themselves on even footing with two goals of their own. At this point Leeds would have been happy with a draw but Foden popped up again in injury time to steal all three points for the Citizens. | |||||||

SUNDERLAND |
BOURNEMOUTH |

||||
| Odds Pick | O/U 2 1/2 | Odds Pick | |||||
| PREDICTIONS: With this game coming in as a PICK, I think that about sums it up. This game is a coin toss. Both these teams stumbled last week and they both sit on the same amount of points. Certainly not much to chose between either one of these, so I’ll say keep away from it. No Bet. | |||||||
| RESULTS: 3-2 | |||||||
| ANALYSIS: Sunderland found themselves down two goals in the first 15 minutes, but the Black Cats were not going to make this easy for Bournemouth. After a 30th minute penalty by Sunderland the visitors had the game tied up within one minute of the restart thanks to a goal by Bertrand Traore. Brian Brobbey came on in the 63rd minute and shortly after that had put Sunderland in front with a header into the bottom corner of Bournemouth’s net. Midfielder Granite Xhaka had an excellent game and has matured greatly since his hectic days at Arsenal, he is the true engine of this team and I think further successes await them. Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook was sent off in the dying seconds for serious foul play which only added salt to and unexpected defeat. |

EVERTON |
NEWCASTLE |

||||
| Odds Pick | O/U 2 1/2 | Odds Pick | |||||
| PREDICTIONS: Without playing particularly well last week, Everton managed to beat a lackluster Manchester United team. At the same time, Newcastle were beating Manchester City. Everton don’t impress me and Newcastle have a problem on the road. In fact their away record is abysmal, therefore again a PICK seems to be the right call, with a slight preference towards the Magpies. For a very modest bet! Newcastle. PICK | |||||||
| RESULTS: 1-4 | |||||||
| ANALYSIS: Reality came roaring into Hill- Dickinson Stadium with the arrival of a focused Newcastle team. It’s been seven months since Newcastle have won an away game and the Geordies travelling fans let Everton know it. “how bad must you be? we’re winning away” they chanted as the Magpies ran riot over a mismatched Everton side. Newcastle manager, Eddie Howe, changed up his side and brought in some different faces and the effect was immediate. Malick Thiaw scored two plus one each by Lewis Miley and Nick Woltemade and Kiernan Drewsbury-Hall did get a complimentary penalty for Everton but the Toffees were never really in this game. Maybe Newcastle have now found the right formula to begin climbing the Table but Everton look like reverting back to their old tried and tested level of mediocracy. | |||||||

TOTTENHAM |
FULHAM |

||||
| Odds PICK | O/U 2 1/2 | Odds PICK | |||||
| PREDICTIONS: Another PICK. Considering the efforts that Spurs have presented in the past few weeks, it would be a brave soul who would put any money on the outcome of this. Fulham put forward a solid performance last week, and could well take all the points here. Too close to call, so I’ll say. No Bet. | |||||||
| RESULTS: 1-2 | |||||||
| ANALYSIS: If Sunderland felt bad going down two goals in the first 15 minutes how must Tottenham have felt going two down in the first 6. Their home form is a horror story as this is their 10th home loss of 2025. This was also Fulham’s first away win of the season. Spurs started to pile on the pressure in fits and starts but it wasn’t enough to overcome their earlier mishaps. In typical fashion it’s hard to pin point exactly what’s wrong with this team but a solution needs to be found rapido or manager Thomas Frank could be one of a long line of ex Spurs managers. | |||||||

CRYSTAL PALACE |
MANCHESTER UNITED |
![]() |
||||
| Odds PICK | O/U 2 1/2 | Odds PICK | |||||
| PREDICTIONS: Yet another PICK. United should be ashamed of last week’s game against a sub-par Everton. Palace didn’t face much of a challenge at Wolves ,but if the same United team show up as last week, the Eagle’s shouldn’t have much trouble dispatching the visitors from up North. Crystal Palace PICK. | |||||||
| RESULTS: 1-2 | |||||||
| ANALYSIS: As far as the stats were concerned this game was pretty even. Crystal palace at home should have had this wrapped up but United have slowly found their footing and held on for the win. Palace opened the scoring with a penalty that Jean-Philippe Mateta had to retake after his first attempt was ruled void as he was deemed to have struck the ball twice on his first attempt. But in the second half the Red Devils came back with goals by Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount and ended up by putting the brakes on a promising season by the Eagles. | |||||||

NOTTINGHAM FOREST |
BRIGHTON |
![]() |
||||
| Odds PICK | O/U 2 1/2 | Odds PICK | |||||
| PREDICTIONS: Well who could have seen that coming, another PICK! Looks like nobody can make their mind up this week. Notts Forest stunned everyone with last week’s hammering of Liverpool, but that was a freak result. Brighton have high hopes of finishing amongst the top teams this year and to achieve that, they need to get a result in these kind of games. Brighton. PICK | |||||||
| RESULTS: 0-2 | |||||||
| ANALYSIS: Nottingham Forest reverted back to their earlier form this season and went down 2-0 to a lively Brighton side. The Tricky Trees performances have improved since the arrival of manager Sean Dyche, but they still only find themselves one point above the relegation zone. When the dust had settled their numbers looked remarkably alike but during the game it always look as though Brighton were in control. In the end a 2-0 victory was a good reflection of how the game unfolded. Danny Welbeck continues to enjoy a return to his form of previous years and is a great asset to a Seagulls side that can hold their own against any team. | |||||||

WEST HAM |
LIVERPOOL |
![]() |
||||
| Odds +1 | O/U 3 | Odds -1 | |||||
| PREDICTIONS: After last week’s debacle, it’s hard to see how Liverpool are one goal favorites here. This just shows just how useless West Ham are. I would prefer -1/2 handicap, but no way can I see the Hammers getting anything out of this game. Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, needs to stop the rot as fast as possible, and he won’t get a better chance than here. If he can’t get this job done, I’d say Slot is toast and Liverpool can forget this season. Liverpool -1 | |||||||
| RESULTS: 0-2 | |||||||
| ANALYSIS: Alexander Isak finally got off the mark with his first Premier League goal since joining Liverpool for $130 mil plus. He was played at the expense of Mo Salah who was dropped for this game. Salah has been off his feed for some time now and manager Arne Slot had to do something to revitalize this side. They still had to wait until two minutes into injury time to seal the deal. Lucas Paqueta had been sent off only 8 minutes prior to the winning goal. An unneeded problem as he had been shown a yellow card for dissent but continued arguing and was shown a red. As ineffective as West Ham were it should not have taken Liverpool almost the entire game to wrap this up. This still looks like the Reds have lots of work to do and the Hammers have to find teams worse than them to gather any more points (not an easy task). | |||||||

ASTON VILLA |
WOLVERHAMPTON |
![]() |
||||
| Odds -1 | O/U 2 1/2 | Odds +1 | |||||
| PREDICTIONS: Aston Villa should not have too much trouble with this one. Wolves are done and the Villans are just getting started. Their fourth place in the League shows steady improvement while those around them falter. They should make short work of a Wolves side that should already be packing their bags for a trip to the Championship League. Aston Villa -1 | |||||||
| RESULTS: 1-0 | |||||||
| ANALYSIS: Aston Villa made this job much harder than it needed to be. In the end they made this their seventh win in eight games which was a tremendous improvement from their early start. Wolves put up a spirited attempt to get some kind of result and they never stopped fighting but as usual it was all for naught. Boubacar Kamara finally broke the deadlock with a screamer and helps keep Villa in the top four after their steady climb up the Table. Not much to say about Wolves. A blind man can see were this is going!!! | |||||||

||||
| Odds PICK | O/U 2 1/2 | Odds PICK | |||||
| PREDICTIONS: Is this the week that Arsenal get their wings clipped? For the third week in a row, what should be the best game of the week, is the last one. Four goals against a clueless Spurs last week puts Arsenal six points clear at the top of the table, but Chelsea are hot on their heels in the number two spot. I’ll take the home team to close the gap. Chelsea PICK. | |||||||
| RESULTS: 1-1 | |||||||
| ANALYSIS: Chelsea looked pretty much in control until Moises Caicedo was sent off in the 38th minute for a reckless challenge. Even after going down a man Chelsea still managed to score a goal ten minutes later. With a one man advantage Arsenal should have been able to achieve more than they did but it took a Mikel Merino strike in the 59th minute to even things up. After that it was pretty much a stalemate leaving Arsenal five points clear at the top of the Table but with Manchester City, Aston Villa and of course Chelsea hot on their heels. | |||||||
